Sophie bird-watching–or watching something else up overhead in the trees.

And then she noticed me watching her.

And an anole on the fence on the side of the house.

I’ve caught glimpses of the next brown anole several times–a blur of orange darting behind the fence–but I’ve never had a chance to get a photo until today. It’s unusual because of its coloring and markings–it seems to be orange on its legs, tail, and sides of its body, and its markings look sort of like a male’s chevron pattern around the beginning of the tail, but they’re not really clear and distinct.

Closer look at this anole. There doesn’t seem to be much orange on the head, where I often see orange/red colors, but a lot of it on the body and tail.
