The robins appear to have moved along in their trip north–I saw only two or three of them around the neighborhood–so it was much quieter in the yard today. There were some mockingbirds and cardinals, of course. I caught a few glimpses of the Eastern Phoebe, but the little bird kept disappearing before I could grab my camera. Finally I spotted the Phoebe sitting on a wire out front and was able to get some photos.

I love this pretty little gray bird with its dark head and the soft yellow wash on its belly.

The Phoebe bobs its tail up and down while perching.

A little more of the yellow wash is showing here.

Just before diving down off the wire .
