Lots of anoles around today, starting with the screen door anoles. Here’s this little one on the screen, looking down below for food.

She’s very comfortable with people, dogs, the door opening and closing, the camera, etc. She’s taking a look at me and the camera here, but then she went back to watching for prey.

Our other back door anole, the big male, is still pretty skittish. He usually runs away from any movement. But today he did sit still on the edge of the screen door watching me while I took photos of him. I was inside the house, shooting through the glass door, which probably made him feel a little braver.

Outside I came across this male anole on the patio tomato plant.

He moved out onto the tomato leaf.

Dewlap display.

He kept displaying, extending the dewlap even farther.

And he finished up with a few push-ups. I like this photo–he looks so serious and determined here.

Over on the gate in the sun I saw one more big male anole.
