A couple of photos from the backyard today. This tiny spider had made its web in the basil plant. It was only about 1/8 inch in diameter.

And a couple more photos from the zoo yesterday. This bird is an Inca Tern, native to the coasts of Peru and Chile. Its most unusual feature is its handlebar “moustache” of white feathers. I wish I could have taken on head-on shot to show the white “moustache” curling up on both sides of the bird’s face!
