A different baby anole today! He was on the old fence by the gate, and when I spotted him he’d just climbed up the fence post behind an adult female anole. So here you can see a size comparison between the baby and an adult.

The chevron pattern on his back indicates that he’s a male. The dark stripe across the top of his head is pretty distinctive and will make it easy to identify him as he grows.

Here he is looking at the camera. The sun was behind him, and parts of the little fellow’s body are almost translucent.

His heart area is reddish, and he has a dark area in his abdomen–maybe showing that he’s been eating. I’ve seen very tiny babies catch and eat little insects.
