This baby anole caught my attention for a few reasons.

There’s that reddish coloring on its side running up onto its head behind its eye. At first I thought it was just the slightly translucent quality of tiny anoles, a little light showing through its body, but I haven’t seen that happen on an anole’s head. So maybe it’s red coloring on its body.

And this seemed to be a pretty bold and assertive little anole. It was bouncing up and down, doing pushups like big anoles during their displays. It didn’t show a dewlap, but it did push out its throat.

There was another little anole up above this one on the fence, so it could have been trying to impress that anole. It kept looking up toward the other baby.

One more of the baby anole.
