There was a lovely black swallowtail butterfly in our yard for quite awhile today, and it was especially attracted to the red/orange trumpet flowers on the vines on the fence. I used my 70-300mm lens at a high speed and that seemed to work out pretty well.

The bright orange on the underside of the wings shows up here.

Butterfly at another part of the fence with a lighter background. I like the darker background better.

A wildflower that had grown tall enough to be seen over the top of the fence. It has a little vine–probably a trumpet flower vine–wrapped around its stem.
