A little Ground-Dove was sitting on a wire out front for quite awhile this afternoon. Ground-Doves are very small doves, only about 6 inches long. I usually see them in pairs, but this one was alone and looking miserable.

After awhile the dove noticed the camera and turned to look at me before it flew away.

Richard, the little dog next door, came over to the fence to see Sophie this afternoon. They’ve known each other for years now, since Richard was a puppy, and they used to race each other up and down the fence. Now they’ve both lost interest in racing most of the time, but they’re still always happy to see each other. (My neighbor says Richard likes Lulu best, but I always see him showing more interest in Sophie.)

Touching noses.
