This fairly young brown anole was one of the few anoles I saw today, and the only one willing to sit still for the camera. I think it’s a male, but I don’t have a clear shot of the markings on its back to confirm that.


The anole let me move in closer without seeming to mind, watching me and the camera the whole time.


Then it turned and looked straight into the camera lens.


The anole moved on to the pool steps overlooking the herb pots, and seemed to be watching the rosemary blowing in the breeze.


Last for today is a patch of moss on one of the palm trees, lit up by the afternoon sun.
