Sophie and I went out looking for anoles on this sunny afternoon, and we found several of them. The first one was a big male hiding in the loops of garden hose on the hose holder.

This pretty female was enjoying the sun on the pool steps.

And there was a big red-headed guy on the fence.

After a few shots, he turned to look at the camera.

Over on the side of the house is a Spinybacked Orbweaver that has been living there all winter, building and rebuilding its web. This spider has a white shell on its back with pointed red spines. It’s harmless and interesting to watch. This one is about 1/2 inch wide across its back.
