This is actually from a few years ago, but I was thinking about it today and I hunted up the photos.

It was spring, and I was out in the yard where new leaves and buds were sprouting and opening everywhere. I looked up at a small tree and saw an odd-looking bud on a green vine on one of the branches.

When I looked at it from another angle, I realized it was a green anole shedding its skin. Its tail was what had looked like a vine along the branch.

The anole continued to work on removing all the old skin.

And when he was finished, he posed on the branch and displayed his dewlap.
