There are mockingbirds everywhere, zooming around the yard, singing from the trees. This is one of the mockingbirds that likes to pose for the camera.


We have a raised planter near the back door where we’re growing basil and parsley this year. The tube with the green thing is meant to signal if water collects in the bottom–the green thing pops up to alert you to drain off the water. This male anole seems to have claimed the planter as his territory, and he likes to sit on the water alert device. (I’ve checked and he’s safe–he can’t get caught in there.)


We’re still missing Sophie and Lulu so much. Here they are together–they really loved each other.
