Max continues to busy himself with the palm trees and anoles. Here he is posing by one of the palm trees.


He likes to pull on the bases of cut-off palm fronds. These old frond bases loosen up and eventually come off by themselves, and the ones he pulls on are already loose. He was using a paw to hold the frond base away from the trunk while he pulled on it.


I love his wide-eyed expression here, as if something had startled him.


And a few butterflies for today, all from the Skipper family of butterflies. The first is a Long-tailed Skipper.


This is one of many small yellow Skippers, but I haven’t identified it.


And this one is a little brown Skipper–I don’t have the name of this one yet either.
