With its leaves all gone, this tree’s berries are easily visible.


And the birds are starting to come for them. This mockingbird turned up today.

Another smaller bird was up there too, but I couldn’t get a photo. I saw the bird fly into another tree–here it is in a spot of sunlight, enough to identify it as a Yellow-rumped Warbler. This is a very common warbler here during the winter and early spring, and they do love the berries on theĀ first tree.


Tomatoes still coming along on the remaining tomato plant, even though it’s December, even though we’ve had a couple of mornings with lows in the 30’s. We don’t have a lot of tomatoes, but I’ve enjoyed a few ripe ones lately.
