A few shots of a White Ibis from yesterday. This bird is usually seen near water, often wading in the water. It’s considered a medium-sized bird with a body length of 25 inches and a wingspan of about 38 inches. They are usually in flocks. The ibises I saw yesterday were in a small group of about 6 to start with, joined by another 5 or 6 while I was watching.

Here’s an ibis walking along.

Stretching its neck to look ahead.

The ibis wasn’t calling or making any sound here, just walking with its bill open.

Pausing to pick in the grass.

Upside down ibis–this is a view from the rear as the bird bends forward, its head to the ground as it attempts to pick up/catch something, probably an insect.
