First for today is a male House Finch. His reddish coloring was pretty vibrant.

A flock of birds flew into some tall pine trees in a neighbor’s yard, and they turned out to be Cedar Waxwings. They were pretty high up and photos aren’t the best due to the distance, but the birds are recognizable.

Cedar Waxwings migrate through our area each year as they head south and then north again, and I always enjoy seeing them. You can see the distinctive bright yellow tip to the bird’s tail feathers in this photo.

One more Cedar Waxwing.
