The weather’s been pleasant and spring isn’t too far off now. The anoles are feeling it too. Today I saw several big male anoles posturing and displaying–trying to claim territory, scare off other males, and/or impress females in the vicinity.
My favorite was this red-headed guy on a rake handle. He had a huge crest raised on his neck and back.
He did a few dewlap displays too.
This anole was over on the pool steps.
He had his eye on something.
And it turned out to be this pretty female with the curly tail.
